The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was opened by Philip K. Wrigley in 1943. Wrigley was the executive of the Major League Baseball in Chicago where mostly young men👨 would play in the league. With the beginning of World War II, many young men had to give up baseball and be drafted into the war. This was very bad for Wrigley because it would shut down the league for him.😭💔After a long time of thinking how he would keep the league surviving, he decided to open the same league for women👯to play baseball. This project would be more difficult because he tried to get women from all over the country and even Canada to participate. With the help of many other executives of baseball leagues, it would be easier to open the league. This would be an amazing opportunity for all the girls who wanted to play baseball but couldn't because of their gender. Surprisingly, women from all over the country came for try-outs and the league successful opened in late 1943. From all of the women who signed up to try out in Chicago, only 60 were chosen to become on the baseball league. Each team was made up of twelve players, a women chaperone, a business manager, and a coach. Every women that had dreamed to play baseball could now play in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. ⚾️
